Harrisburg Horizon - News |

The Horizon teams traveled south of the border to Wilmington, Delaware and suffered two defeats at the hands of the Destroyers. The Lady Horizon lost for the second straight week 79-72. Aquisha Cahoe, the 6’2” past player from Rutgers, controlled the boards and led scorers with 26 points. Rochelle Coleman, the 5’9” forward from Syracuse, made 6 of her 19 points late in the game to put the final blow on the struggling Horizon team. Sasha Leverentz, arriving on the site ten minutes into the game due to coaching commitments, was high scorer for Harrisburg with 17. The flu bug limited the playing time and scoring of Damita Bullock, the other half of Harrisburg’s high scoring forwards. The men faired no better than the ladies, falling behind 13 points at the half and never recovering. Mid-way through the 4th quarter, three-point baskets by Kevin Rowe and Mike Shue drew the Horizon to within two but turn-overs put the Destroyers comfortably back in the lead, finishing-off the Horizon 119-110. The Destroyers (4-0) got 24 points from their team leader Rasheed Brinkley and 21 from Vernon Sharper. Mike Shue’s 22 points led the Horizon (3-1). The victory put the Destroyers comfortably in first place in the EBA. The teams will meet again on the Horizon home court in late March to close out the season. |
