Text Box: Horizon Teams Open Strong

Both Horizon teams posted impressive wins in season openers. Mike Shue returned to the Horizon line-up in impressive style as he threw in 33 points and 11 rebounds to lead the team to a 128-74 win over Schuylkill. Michah Davenport, former Harrisburg High star, debuted with 25 points and 13 rebounds and MVP Dave Jannuzzi had 23 points and six assists. Brad Merriweather broke his own previous team rebounding record of 17 by hauling-in 23 rebounds to go along with his 11 points.

Michal Machavage of Etters, PA was high scorer for the Firedogs with 20 Points

The Lady Horizon team extended their winning streak to 27 with a lop-sided 87-55 win over the Central PA Gems. The Lady Horizon featured team balance in scoring. Harrisburg’s Damita Bullock broke into the line-up with 17 points to join April Longo’s 17 for high-scorers. Sasha Leverentz (15) and Amy MacDonald also reached double figures.
