Skipworth was the number two all-time scoring leader at Hershey High before attending VMI.  While at VMI, he was number five all- time scoring leader and team MVP in 2004. Skipworth was a member of the All Big South Conference Team and the Virginia All State 2^nd team from 2002 through 2005. He has played a year in Germany before joining the Horizon for a brief stint at the end of the 2007 season.
